What file formats do you support?
DOCX, plain text (.txt), and Markdown (.md) files up to 10 MB. For best results use DOCX, which preserves chapter breaks and headings that the structure analysis relies on.
How long does an analysis take?
Most individual lens analyses complete in 1 to 3 minutes for a full-length novel. A Full Analysis (all 10 lenses) typically takes 10 to 20 minutes depending on manuscript length.
Is my manuscript safe?
Your manuscript text is held in memory during processing only. We do not store the full text on disk or in a database after analysis completes. Analysis results (findings, not your manuscript text) are stored so you can review them in your account.
What's the difference between an individual analysis and a Full Analysis?
An individual analysis runs a single lens (Inconsistencies, Dialogue, etc.) against your manuscript. A Full Analysis runs all lenses available on your plan in a single job. Individual and Full analyses draw from separate monthly quotas.
Why are some lenses locked?
The five core lenses (Inconsistencies, Repetitions, Prose Quality, Structure, Timeline) are available on all plans including Free. The remaining five (Dialogue, Character Voice, Character Arc, Show vs. Tell, and Sensory Detail) require an Indie plan or above.
Can I analyse the same manuscript more than once?
Yes. Each analysis run counts against your monthly quota. You can re-run any lens after making revisions to track improvement.
What happens when I hit my quota?
You'll see a quota reached message and can't run new analyses until the next billing period or until you upgrade your plan. Failed analyses (ones that error out) do not consume quota.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Email us at hello@draft.red with your account email and we'll cancel immediately. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
